Children and Rules

Why is it that a house can have the same set of rules forever, but yet the kids seem to constantly break the same set of laws over and over?  For instance, wash the dishes when you are finished, don’t let me come downstairs to a sink full of dishes in the morning, call if your plans change, turn off the lights when you are finished…

Are kids getting lazier with each generation or are my kids just slow learners?

Maybe for our next “family movie night” we’ll watch Dumb and Dumber to give them something to aim for. 

Or maybe, I’ll buy one of those sexy little maid numbers and come downstairs in the morning with that on, now that should scare them all straight.
